This is a very interesting case, and I thought the background information on the various involved parties was pertinent. This might be a great case for the Vidocq Society to solve. It was totally inconceivable to me that any hitmen would murder either Max or Rebecca in the way they died. And while naked suicides are rare, at 8%, they certainly do happen. It doesn't seem incredible to me that Rebecca would have felt distraught at the prospect of being blamed for Max's death and her guilt over any accident that may have happened on her watch, as well as having a history of volatile and dependent relationships. Suicides should leave a letter, because it is very unfair for law enforcement and the survivors to suffer the indignity of being accused of crimes, or being unclear about the act. I agree with others that this book would have been improved by being cut to 3/4 of its length. Assessments by psychics have no place in criminal investigation. Also, the data on decapitation and hanging didn't seem pertinent, as Rebecca was a petite 100 pound woman, and the other subjects weren't. Also, lividity is fluid during the first 6 hours of death, and since Rebecca was quite obviously deceased at 6AM when Adam made the call, he most certainly wasn't saying to any 2nd party `Keep her still.' Given the totality of the circumstances, to me it seems about 50/50 murder or suicide, but I would be amazed if Adam had had any involvement. Keeping one's door unlocked in a community with 3 armed forces bases, wouldn't be wise. Military communities have a fairly high crime rate, which isn't surprising as there is a large concentration of young males in them, and statistically, it's mostly young males who commit crimes.
